Volunteer Role: Security Observer β Operation Return To Base Walk/Run/Ruck Event
βπ§ Purpose
βTo help maintain a safe and orderly environment by observing activity throughout the event area, identifying potential safety issues, and serving as an extra set of eyes for the event leadership and professional security personnel. Security Observers support participant well-being and overall event integrity.
π Tasks & Responsibilities
-Volunteers will not physically interveneβmonitor and report only
-Monitor assigned zones for any unusual, unsafe, or disruptive behavior
-Report incidents, medical concerns, or suspicious activity to event staff or emergency services immediately
-Politely redirect participants or attendees as needed
-Keep issued radio and phone on hand
β° Time Commitment
Event Day: October 4, 2025
Time: 0745 - 0545
Shift: Rotating observational shifts (approximately 1β3 hours active, 1β3 hours resting, and repeat)

-Assigned observation zones across the event footprint
-Volunteers must report to the check-in area by 0750

Skills & Qualifications
-Calm and observant under pressure
-Reliable, mature, and good judgment in handling concerns
-Ability to follow protocol and escalate issues to proper personnel
-Clear verbal communication
